Having a helper gently push down on the hood while I pulled the cable used to work on my '67 Beetle. Currently in my Square the lever is detached from the glove box because the cable is very hard to move with the lever. This way, I just grab the whole lever assembly and pull and the thing opens right up. Have you tried On my '71, it sometimes seemed that a push down helped, before pulling up. > If the release cable is not broken, maybe you can pull harder on the release > latch by removing the glove box, detaching the lever and pulling on the While pulling the lever down in the glove box on my '71, I could grab the cable housing under the dash and yank on that, too... that would help it pop up. -Greg ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
