<x-charset iso-8859-1>In a fit of weirdness eons ago, I attempted to gain access to the speedo guts from the front. That was stupid enough, but I managed to knock against the needle and it fell off ala Sophy! Unless you look closely, the wooden match stick (with the sparking stuff removed) looks a lot like a white speedo needle. Still easier than the speedo needle that is bent on my truck, as it rubs against the glass! See officer, I was only going 25, I can prove it, look at the speedo, it still shows 25mph! Maybe I will refurbish the face and paint the > needle red while I am at it..... It's relatively easy to get in this far. If you are careful you won't damage the chrome bezel. Hint: don't try to straighten the 5 tabs, just put a screwdriver on each side and "lift" the tab over the rim. Done gently this leaves no marks and doesn't stretch anything. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe </x-charset>
