[T3] Generator Data

I have checked out my generator again yesterday and found that it was acting
differently. I became a bad boy and decided to sand the commutator
with aluminum oxide clothed back sand paper while the generator was
turning with the engine on, I removed the brushes to do this.

I do not everyone doing this may lose a finger and mess up the
commutator with the wrong sand paper. I found that my commutator had
some burned spots that contrasted with the sanded parts.

Immediately prior to this I noticed that the brushes were no
longer hot as before. When the brushes were wearing prematurely
(still ? ) the brushes/spings felt so hot that they would leave
burn marks onn my finger when touched. Now, for some reason they
are no longer hot and I notice the brushes are not disapearing as
quickly as they were. Fixed itself ? Short opened ?

Oh well, any how, this is the data I have aquired yesterday.

I attempted to use my points tach but found it was either broken or
did not like my petronix electronic points. So I could not use
a tach, here is the data. All numbers aquired during fast idle.

******At Battery*********

- Cold engine Battery 2 amp draw at 14.13V
- Everything on 13.3V (forgot to note current)
******At Generator*********

-D+ 8 Amps (no electrical on) 15.2V
-D+ < 5 Amps (no electric fans) 15.3V
-D+ < 5 Amps (no electric fans, engine racing) 14.85V-14.9V
-D+ 40 Amps (everything on incl. fog lights) 15.6V
-D+ 35 Amps (wipers off fog still on) 15.73V
-D+ 18 Amps (no head lights/wipers,fog on) 15.39V
-D+ 29 Amps (no fogs/wipers, lights are on) 15.64V
-D+ 10 Amps (no fogs/wipers/headlamps) 15.25V
-D+ 8 Amps (no fogs/wipers/headlamps/radio) 15.20V
-D+ no load (Disconnected D+ fast idle) 42.5V
-D+ no load (Disconnected D+ engine racing) 100V

Is the 100V normal, the gen is still charging normally without
overheating the brushes?

I found that brushes made by the american company, STANDARD
are much harder and denser than the Brazilian or the
German ones and may last longer, I purchased them but did
not install them. I have been able to scratch the Brazilian
and the German ones much more easier than the American ones.
