I had a > spare so I replaced them and this solved by bogging down problem. I will definitly check this then. I have at my disposal 3 sets of contacts (been collecting these when I find them). When I put them in they were clean, I had the distributor out (checking mechanical advance for correct function), but I didn't know about the dollar bill trick.
