I think what you are asking is if you can "tap into a stock working fuel 
system ?"...

I dont think this would work very well with carbs, carbs only need 3 to 5 
pounds of fuel pressure and a stock pump puts out way more than that
If you use the carbs then cap off the fuel return line to the tank and use 
the other one for the fuel supply to the carbs , You can use a mechical pump 
or an electric one. I mounted my elec one to the back side of the spare tire 
bucket.
