Re: [T3] Dash pad restoration
<x-flowed>>1. I can have the current dash restored (does anyone know who does this
and approximate cost?). It's in pretty good shape except for a 3-4" tear
on the right side of the speaker grill.
This is where they typically crack, and I'll bet any attempt to repair this
will be temporary. I believe Eastwood sells some kind of kit that can be
used on this. Maybe somebody here has tried it?
2. I can purchase a modern dash pad replacement (fairly inexpensive,
I'd stay away from this option.
3. I can purchase another dash in good shape. This appears to be both
expensive and difficult.
If you're patient, you might get lucky in a junkyard. A few years ago while
on a business trip to So. Cal. I found a nice uncracked replacement dash pad
for something like $15. I had to hand-carry it on the plane trip home,
along with a nice set of Fastback pop-out windows and rubber. Call me
silly, but I tend to keep an eye out for junkyards when I visit new places.
