This will leak any time you turn left or drive on any but the smoothest roads. 
Remember you only have to hit one bump or change lanes once to dump 
enough gas to make a lot of smell. There are 2 dangers here: Everyone's 
aware of losing gas and the smell/fire hazard, but few people think of the 
problem of water getting thrown in when driving in the rain. This can really 
mess up either a FI or carbed fuel system.

You really need to fix this.

Unfortunately the late overflow hoses are NLA, so you will need to do this in 
some makeshift way. Don't ignore it.

It might also just be a problem with the wiper shafts binding up from lack of 
lubrication. The only long term fix is to disassemble and fill them with 
grease. A little oil will make a big difference for a few months. I probably have 
both the switch and motor if you need them.
