Is it possible to machine type1/type3 case for through bolts? Would these be the crank main bolts? Obviously, this is going to replace the mag cases, therefore they probably wanted it to be identical. There are other AL cases out there that are cast differently for strength and longer strokes, but are still streetable and use normal cooling tin. By the end of summer, there should be three different ones. Performance Tech?, CB Performance, Precision Alloy? which is already available. I saw the latter one at Oktobugfest in Puyallup,Wa last October. It looked really good and accepted 86 or 88 stroke without mods. Unfortunately, it was basically "beta" release and $1500. It's funny when you ask these guys if it will work for a type3 because they automatically say yes or i don't know, but it has the type3 dipstick. What I have not paid attention to is how the type3 fan housing mounts to the case, so I was unsure myself. I figured if the area around the crank looked the same as the universal case, then it would work. When I contacted Scat about the killer case for a type3, they said no chance. This is an area I have been contemplating for a year now. Trying to decide to use AL type3 or convert to type4. I think the t4 is probably the best way to go, but.... Shad at LN Engineering definately has the sweet set of cylinders!! That's what I want to use.
