[T3] Resto of my 66 Sunroof Fasty TL - RUST

POR-15 is the best way to handle this. IF it is not rusted through, you can
do this on the bottom side for sure, top and bottom to really get it right
(that's how I'd do it). POR-15 is a rust inhibitor, and moisture actually
makes it stronger when it is curing (I think that is what the website says).
You can paint it on and it will convert the rust as well as any moisture in
the air and on the metal at the time of application. If you want to get rid
of the rust first, which is the recommended way, you can use their metal
prep products before going to the coating. It's all on their website at
www.POR15.com. I love the stuff. I've used it on my '64 Beetle and my '70
Bus. Hope this helps.

Subject: [T3] Resto of my 66 Sunroof Fasty TL

Well my resto is going well these days........I have located most of the
body
panels I need to replace the rusty ones on my Fasty and the next big step is
to tackle the surface rust on the floor pan... (seems as though the previous
owner had a sunroof leak which I now have repaired with new seals) ......I
removed all the carpet and there is surface rust but not through holes at
all
and solid. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to tackle this chore?
Thanks.

Greg
