While I'm in complete agreement with Steve on his basic concept, as on 
most things, I hope this does not encourage people to rip out their old wiring 
harnesses. Most people discover that this was a big mistake when they are 
just about 10% into installing the new one.

That's when they discover that this is a MUCH bigger job than they 
expected, that they no longer remember where all the wires on the original 
went, and that the new harness is just sort of "generic" rather than being an 
exact replacement.

Fixing a few defects in an old harness can be a bit of work, but is almost 
always lots less work than replacing it. There's nothing wrong with old copper.
