[T3] broken rear motor support,HELP!

Well, while driving around this evening in my 69 fasty, my motor, well,
 dropped. After taking a quick look at it the it appears that the rear
 support bar snapped. My buddy thinks we can just pull it and weld the bar
 back together. I'm not sure if this will be ok, in the long run. What
 should I do. I am almost sure that I should get a good used one soon even
 if we do get it welded together long enough for me to get around for a
 while. Any ideas where I can get one, and why would this happen other
 than its 30 some years old??? Also would anyone in the nor cal bay area
 have one I could buy off them?
