When the engine is hot the cylinders will continue to fire after you shut off the spark, just from hot parts in the combustion chamber. This is called Dieseling and can be hard on an engine. VW installed electromagnetic idle jets on their OEM carbs to cure this, but they had some problems of their own. On your Webers, I don't know what you can do. Running them rich will help them run cooler, but the rings and cylinders will wear faster if there is excess gas in there. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
