<x-charset iso-8859-1>>Also the oil light would flicker on at idle. I guess the idle is not high enough to pump the oil? Does this flickering oil light have any value as an indicator of something? > Yes, it could mean your engine is wearing out or that the oil pressure switch is bad or that the engine is overheating. What weight oil are you using? My Squareback (good engine) oil light doesn't come on with straight 30w. I had a Double Cab with a tired 40hp engine, the light would come on in the Phoenix summer only, until I switched to 40w. > I thought maybe the carbs were mal adjusted? any ideas? I recently timed my 009 to 7.5 btdc and set my carbs mixture screw 3 full turns out each. I'm not sure about the adjustment. I tried to screw the mixture in till it runs rough then back it out 1/2 to 1 turn. This is correct right? > I know they aren't stock carbs but the stock carbs are usually set approx. 1.5 turns out. You should only back off 1/4 to 1/2 turn after you find where it starts to run rough. You are probably running too rich.
