Hey All, I was walking behind my car yesterday, and I noticed that the last 8" or so of my tailpipe was bent down and barely hanging on. This is on my '71 Fastback FI, stock muffler. Since I didn't want it to fall off while I was driving, I pulled it off. Now it seems as if I'm getting an exhaust smell inside the cabin. Would that just be a coincidence, or is there a reason for that? Also, since the bend in the pipe is gone, does that mean that the hot exhaust is just floating back up into the engine compartment (when stopped)? How important is it that I get this replaced/fixed? In other news, I just picked up a '68 or '69 Auto FI Fastback and a sand rail/dune buggy for $100! The Fastback has a 'good engine and transmission', supposedly. But for measly hundred bucks, it can't be beat. Thanks, Dan Dypsky Ocean City, MD, USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
