And, then when you go to a German newspaper and magazine shop and you see on their shelves that wonderful German Volkswagen magazine "Gutefahrt" for sale, you just crack up. I also find it funny when the Type3 Karmann Ghia is described as "Der grosse Karmann Ghia", especially when something horrible or distasteful here is described as "gross". However, just as we here find some American English phrases funny, there must be many phrases in English that Germans find funny or odd, too! Anyone know any of these especially in relation to cars and VWs.
