Some new Some years ago, I was reading an *old* (1920s?) automotive maintenance manual. You know, like how to change a valve on the side of the road, pretty hard-core stuff compared to the maintenance-free, "modern" VWs we drive. Well, regarding points, it said that if pitting was on one side of the points, then the condensor had a capacitance that was too great; if the pitting was on the opposite side, then the condensor had too little capacitance. It recommended swapping the condensor appropriately. Is this reasonable? Jim/others, what do you think? -Greg ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
