Yes, but my car does have the factory installed gasoline heater. In the 
picture, you'll see the green knob a bit further down on the dash, 
closer to the steering coloumn. The cigar lighter is not an oriinal VW, 
but it was clearly made for the VW dealer network as it is an exact 
match to the other rubber switches in the dashboard. It doesnt have a 
part numer, only the manufacturer "Autofun". I believe this was importer 
or dealer installed some time when the car was farily new.
