I went down to the Oregon DEQ for a voluntary emission test. They inspector said anyone can do a voluntary (and free) test, even out of state. Phillip "passed", but I'm not sure what I'm looking at for tuning purposes. There was an idle test and a 2000-2500 RPM test. However, although you could see the readout on the monitor during the test, the only results on the printout appear to be at idle. The standards are appropriate for 1966, although the inspector didn't know if that was really just the min. req. for a 1978 model to pass (the oldest required under law). RPM: 599 @ idle and 2270 @ elevated Standard------------------>Reading (at idle?) HC PPM Max: 1600------>1138 CO (%) Max: 7.00-------->3.57 CO+CO2 (%) Min: 6.0--->6.5 The car is a stock single port 1600 with 009 dizzy. It looks like I should increase the idle a little, but what else?
