<x-charset Windows-1252>Thanks Neil and Keith, I'm about to swap back to the '73 spec jets both sides, and try the choke flaps again! Its just I had so much trouble with them on the old carbs- it was much easier to start without them! Stock vac dizzy with newish hose and diaphragm was all right last time I checked, but I'll check again. Idle screws look good but I'll try swapping them. If its the "look, listen, do it better", thanks but I have it already- its very good! Overall, despite the teething troubles, I get the feeling that the engine prefers these carbs at the higher RPMs, though that might just be my expectations! Thanks for all your help Mark Seaton '73 TA ----- Original Message ----- From: "neil verdon" <Neil.Verdon@t-online.de> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Friday, June 07, 2002 10:56 AM Subject: Re: [T3] My new Carbs > hi. > 132.5 is probable too big and 127.5 to small try the 130 all round. > > do your idle needles come to a nice point both off them take them out and > look swap sides with them as well and see if the dificult adjustment > follows the needle. > > it will be difficult to start without the choke butterflys fitted i would > refit them . > > obvious but on the left carb with poor adjustment you do have the vaccume > outlet blocked if its a 009 dizzy the hose is good if its a normal dizzy? > > i just got rid of my 009 again for an original vacume only dizzy and its > much better . > > check that the vacume can on yours is not holed but basically i think your > problem is the different jets side to side and the lack of chokes. > > revert back and give it a whirl. sorry im a bit slow with my answesa as ever > but as ever theres not enough hours in a day . > > if you want it i can send you the original vw set up procedure for these > carbs or go to everate barns site it downloads in seconds there. > > good luck. > > neil verdon > 66sqr on irs. > > > > ------------------------------------------------ > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> > For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
