No fenders no nuthin. Notch prices do seem to be on the rise. Maybe so -- I'm not familiar with the current market -- but do note that this red notch is relatively early. -Greg The Notch has no engine and has been sitting for 28 years. That's enough to tell me that the Notch has no hope as a restorable auto. Just think ... what would a rebuilt engine cost (starting from scratch)? About $2,000? What would a paint job cost? About $2500. What would the brakes cost? About $700. That's $5,200 just to get started. Then there's the interior at about $2,000, a new set of tires at about $600, wheels at $500, miscellaneous fixtures at about $1,000. This could get outa hand in a hurry and make a man wish he had another hobby. It would be my luck that I'd get this done only to find out that it had cancerous rocker panels that would cost beaceaup bucks to fix. There are plenty of good Notches available for around $5,000. Why start with such a pittance? It's like the ole boy who is advertising a 1956 Type 1 convertible for $10,000 on THESAMBA. That vert was so terrible that I honestly bid $250 for it and then had second thoughts because I might win. What a restoration ultimately costs is the key. If a man can't see his way out after spending about $20,000, he should change hobbies. I think that I will ... Hmmmm ...
