There have occasionally been places which bring in new parts just to add to their rebuild stream to make up for cores that never get returned. I have a brand new starter that came as a rebuilt from a new Bosch rebuilder that was doing this. I checked with my local supplier just now and they say that the Bosch rebuilt generator for the type 3 is a GR16X and is still shown on the Bosch price list. This does not prove that it is still available, but at least they have not been unavailable for long. He also recommended that there was a good shop locally who could also do it, so that is always an option, but you want to get someone to verify that the place you find actually does good work. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
