You can test the trigger points by putting the voltmeter on 12 and 21 then 12 and 22 while someone cranks the starter, make sure you disconnect the coil wire, so it doesn't start. The meter will just show the opening and closing of the points the voltage is not that important. Just that there is a reading consistantly. Your spray could be intermitten and this could be caused by dirty trigger contacts. Take them out and run a clean piece of paper between the terminals, don't file them. Hope this helps.
