<x-charset iso-8859-1>Henrik: I don't have much experience with dual carbs but I believe that if the mixture screws aren't doing their job then either your carbs need a thorough cleaning/rebuild or perhaps they have been rebuilt with bad mixture screws. This will sound ridiculous but when I rebuilt my PHN carb the mixture screw that came in the kit was useless! Rather than a long tapered point the screw was 'cut off' before reaching a point. It made no difference to the running of the engine at all! I ended up re-using the original screw after a quick touch-up with fine steel wool. It is possible (I'd say probable, even) that the sluggishness is an indication of a poorly working advance mechanism. I have found that both vacuum advance and centrifugal advance distributors benefit greatly from a partial dissassembly, a good soak in isopropyl alcohol, a lot of spray-cleaning (I use electronic contact cleaner) and a thorough lubriation with engine oil.. Good luck! Andre > The problem that I have is that I can't get the car to run well. It is > SLOW and hesitates, just like the carbs were out of sync.
