VW get quite a lot of parts made in Czechoslovakia, where Skodas are made, and they pass VWs high standards. It's just a matter of economics - labour is much cheaper there, rather than less skilled. If you can get to Wolfsburg, visit Autostadt and be impressed with the Skoda pavilion - I thought it had the most impact and depth of all the makes. Dave.
