OK What I did last night was I did the 3 dollar carb tune by holding the throttle open at about 3500 and then put both hands over the carb throuts and let the eng die. I then fired it back up to get the extra gas out of the cyldrs. Then after runng for a bit I tightened the Idle mix screws all the way down and 3 turns out. The car idled beatifully, but when I gave it more gas it chokd kinda amd then I did the plug test proceedure and now cyldrs 1 and 3 don't fire at idle. Do I just need to change the plugs and just start over? I'd still do a compression test. You're looking for something that's different about that one cylinder, while carb and manifold "problems" would likely affect both cylinders on that side.A lot of people like rough intake manifolds better than smooth. -Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054USA------------------------------ ------------------To unsubscribe, E-mail to: For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ===== Erick the daddy 68 fasty Is your Type X here?
