Welcome to the same boat! I just yanked a 72 stored about the same time. She orange and has 30k on the clock. Don't know if my fuel pump rocks and rolls yet, but you CAN hook up 12v and they spin. Be careful, spark and all that, and the gas cools em. I have heard you can open them and clean, but also heard it's a good chance they leak. I am avoiding opening mine. If you carefully attach the wires, and connect with a switch 12 source, with wires far from fuel source, so switch doesn't sprak off anything, pump COULD be worked in situ, but be VERY careful of sparks from closing circuts. You might have bad brake hoses, that hold in the pressure when you apply brakes, and keep em locked. Or the cycls are sticking harcore in the bores. Both of us will have to tear up the brakes systems and redo them. My MC just blew up when they hit brakes for first time, splat! Hoping to get by in the caliper land, but rear cycls and MC are geeting redone right off. The starter is self supported by the trans, with a bushing in the back, can run it without engine in. Keep in touch, maybe we can help each other out a lot as we try to save these two mystery cars. Drain that gas tank! Mine was digusting!
