Well, tried to time Sophy's new engine tonight with a borrowed strobe timing light. Only got a little bit of advance with the vacuum can hooked up. With it disconnected, I get NO advanced even up to say 3000 RPM! Weird, I think. So I pop the dizzy cap and try to turn the rotor by hand to check the centrifugal advance. NOTHING! Can't budge it in either direction. Was there a vacuum advance only dizzy. I dont think so.... Dizzy part number is: 311 905 205 F Bosch# 0 231 137 013 I don't see anything that looks like centrifugal advance weights or anything. What do I have? There needs to be centrifgual advance, right? One option if the dizzy doesnt sound right is to go with the dizzy from my 71 FI Fasty. Obviously without using the FI trigger points. If I do, do I go with the 66 timing (7.5 BTDC) or with the 71 timing (0 BTDC, I think)? Thanks.
