It's really hard to get comments inserted appropriately in a run-on paragraph like this, so you'll just have to take it all at once. I don't know what wire fell off the starter, but there is nothing there that should have made the car lose power once it was running. The relays are the same. I don't know what else would click up front, but I sometimes I put my fingers on it just to verify that what I'm hearing is that relay. The flasher relay sometimes clicks with voltage transients, this is not a FI problem. The separate fuel pump switch is a good solution as long as you don't have an accident. If you put it in series with the relay then you could have the theft protection as well as the safety feature. > Jim, any advice? do I need to swap my brain?? I'm sure your brain is fine, and so is your ECU. ;-) Check the wiring between the 2 relays, and the brain. There is a connector just in front of the engine where the FP relay wire connects into the FI harness; it's a single splice - check it. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
