[T3] Mirrors question?

Greetings...!

I seem to have two different type mirrors on Drivers side (DS) and passenger side (PS) of 73.

The differences seem to be: 

1- arm connecting mirror to door - DS very short to non-existent, PS longer, and extends further away from door
2- mirror perspective - DS appears to have no perspective distortion, PS  some distortion where "objects appear closer..."

The DS door was replaced I think, not sure if it was replaced with correct year or not.  Any feeback?

 I am wondering whether 1 or both or these mirrors are not original, or if this assymetrical set-up is original? Pretty far ahead of its time, if correct, I would think.  How about that rear window defroster also!
