Well, I also have scored a porsche motor...well '81 vanagon, but it's basically the same long block...there would be a problem if you wanted to put it into a bug, but in atype 3 the engine is already pancake style...so you can use stock intake (if it's F.I.)other wise there might be a little adjustment with carbs & manifolds....but you can use stock type 4 exhaust...(specific to your heads) Here are a few really great websites.. Type 4 secrets revealed - great web site!!! http://www.tunacan.net/t4/ Type 4.org http://www.type4.org/ This has alot of info...go to the Type 4rum http://shoptalkforums.com/ There are certain things that need to be changed....like the motor mounts, which can be fabricated.... the tranny bolts right up...if it's manual...if it's AT you need the type 4 torque converter...but i am sure you will find enough information in these pages... good luck, Heather - '71 Fastback Emma Check out my website!!! vwdreamer.tripod.com P.S. i will soon be converting my Fastback over...and hopefully I will FABRICATE a mount so i won't have to cut up my fasty!! --- Ken Simons <illusioneer_ken@yahoo.com> wrote: > Hey guys, > > I just scored a Porsch 1.9 l for free!
