<x-charset iso-8859-1> Well I had the carbs off and apart again this weekend. The only things I can find wrong with them (apart from the slight slack in the throttle shafts) is that the choke diaphragms are holed, and the throttle lifting cam/spring return/choke shaft was a bit gummed up. I did not bother checking the diaphragms last time as there were no replacements in the kit and the function of these did not seem significant. Looking at them more closely I can see that a hole here can short the idle circuit as the vacuum take-off for these is just below the throttle disk. Would this have a significant effect on the operation of the carbs. The holes are only small and I glued them up with some puncture repair cement- I will try and get some better ones from T3D on Monday. I cleaned up and re-lubed the cam/spring gubbins and hope they work a bit better. Also I was wondering about adjusting the accelerator pump settings. The connecting shaft to the pump lever has 3 holes in it and a split pin that adjusts the amount the pump can charge each pump stroke. At the moment the split pins are in the outermost holes which means the pump will charge the max amount and accelerating will be the richest. I can't find any info on setting this so wondered if anyone had any views on whether it would be a good idea to shift the split pin in a bit to save some petrol when accelerating?
