<x-charset iso-8859-1>The handbrake with the grip has a longer button. The button should probably unscrew from the rod, but I'd feel more comfortable taking the lever back out and swapping the rods over with the button still fitted. Rather than pull up on the lever and have the whole thing fall apart just when you need it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Baum" <dbaum@isdn.net.il> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Friday, January 25, 2002 9:31 AM Subject: [T3] Hand brake lever installation > Hi all, > > I am installing a new handbrake lever in my 1969 Type 34. to replace the > rather messy one that the car came with. > > I followed Bentley and Haynes, and everything seemed pretty easy for a > change, when I came up against the usual unexpected problem.
