I've been bitten too many times to do that again.... If the only mess in the fan housing is oil, it should be able (with the aformentioned Gunk) to run out of the small drain hole at the bottom of the FH. Of course this idea goes a bit adrift if the fan has pulled in loads of dust which has mixed with the oil to make a paste. If the dust was a problem, I'd also be a bit concerned that it would build up on the cylinder fins, reducing the cooling as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
