Then I realized that the cooling air also gets pumped thru the generator. Now I don't know what to think, but I don't think I'd be willing to do this. The problem is that the Gunk would just flush the dirt out of one location and deposit it in another. If it lands in my driveway, well that's pretty simple, but if it builds up in the generator and on the face of the oil cooler, then I'm not sure I'd be happy with the result. Then there's the fact that some of it will get pumped thru the air passages of the heat exchanger and part of that will probably make it all the way inside the car, even if the heat is turned off.
