<x-charset iso-8859-1>Type 3 wheels normally have a different offset to Beetle wheels, which would prevent the beauty rings from fitting. Someone else on this list suggested a way to spot the difference; put a straight edge agross the outer face of the wheel. If the hubcap mounting rim is flush or proud of the wheel rim, it's a T3. If the hubcap part is recessed it's a Bug wheel. I only realised the difference when I bought some trims for one of my old Fastbacks, and they only fitted on two of the wheels. It had a mix of 4" and 4.5" wheels, some T1 and some T3. I ended up buying some Empis instead, which looked nice, but costed a lot more.... ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Wallace" <wallacej@ohsu.edu> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2002 1:40 AM Subject: [T3] Trim rings to fit? > Anyone know if this would fit the standard T3 wheels also? > > Concerning the Trim Rings -- as far as our information shows they only fit > the 1972-7/73 Bug and Super Bug wheels.
