It doesn't go to your maximum straight away, or you might as well bid that as a single bid. If your automatic (proxy) bid isn't more than the maximum set by someone else, it ups it towards the maximum you've chosen. If it stops at $20.50, their maximum was $20. Unless someone else bids higher, you get it for $20.50 not $25 that was your maximum limit. I expect Marc cancelled your bid assuming you hadn't really wanted to go that high; a misunderstanding rather than an insult. Hope Scott manages to get the bus out of the way to somewhere safe - it'd be a shame to have it crushed. Dave. UK VW Type 3 & 4 Club http://www.hallvw.clara.co.uk/ I guess that everyone except me knew that, but honestly I did not know. The matter is closed now, and we can get back to more constructive things. Scott sold the bus, so we won't have to see it crushed. The 56-on-a-54 pan is arriving tonite, so we'll have a new plan tomorrow. Thanx.
