That's how it works. You specify a maximum bid and the system
automatically
bids on your behalf. If the first guy bid $20 your bid of $25 would have
put the high bid up top $20.50 . If somebody else came along and bid $30
the high bid would go to $25.50 , etc etc.
Andre
When I logged on, the maximum bid was 4.99 with a .50 increment. So, I bid
$5.24 and the system automatically outbid me.So, i tried $5.74 and the
same
thing happened. I bid $6.24 and the same thing happened. Finally, I bid
$25
and got the high bid. Where did I go wrong? Or did I go wrong?
How many times would that inching up kept going on? I'm not bitching, just
trying to figure out the proxy bidding strategy and what it means.
