My original lights look like new, but one > back up light is broken out. I have a spare set but the red is faded on them. I don't know if this will work, I've never done it. The clear lower section is a separate part, glued to the red upper half. In theory it should be possible to split the bond line and glue a new part on. Since you have a broken one, could you grind/sand down to the bond line and then do the same with the other piece. Ordinary glues won't touch this stuff, but there is a plastics supply house here that has some good plastic cement that I have used for similar parts. If you can find such a place they might be able to recommend a good cement. Be sure to use a cement that dries clear. If you do this, make sure that the finished lens ends up with a flat surface where it mates to the taillight body. If you do this, let us know how it turns out. Otherwise, I have some good used lenses. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
