[T3] '66 Square w/IRS

<x-charset Windows-1252>I located a reasonably-priced '66 Squareback I am thinking of buying as a
daily driver.  The previous owner blew the stock tranny and then installed a
'70 Bug IRS setup and also welded in the IRS rear engine hanger.   Other
than that and a 12v conversion, it is relatively stock.

Opinions?  Anything I should check out because of the IRS swap?  Everything
appeared to be in order from a visual inspection, based on the little I know
about the IRS setup.

Does a '70 Bug tranny have the same gear and final ratio as an IRS Type 3
tranny?  He said it does 85 mph all day so I figured it must be similar or
identical.
