<x-flowed>>If I put in one 2 1/16" gauge into my console, which would be most > >helpful? I don't attempt to answer this question, but this brings up the rather extreme position on gauges taken in Bergs writings, which is basically that all gauges are junk, even in terms of getting relative information (i.e. are things getting colder or hotter). I have a hard time believing this is true, although it did stop me from buying any gauges. It seems to me it can't be that difficult to manufacture a reliable device which would replace the dipstick and get an accurate, reproducible measurement of the oil temperature at the location of the dipstick.
