<x-charset iso-8859-1>Thanks Jim. I'll keep investigating nonetheless. Here's what I think happened: I was trying to set the timing with a strobe, and one of the tach-to-coil wires accidentally grounded against the engine. If that occured at the same time the points were open, its possible that the low current effectively by-passed the condensor altogether and pitted my points. I think I said that right ? I pulled the points and there's a little "tit" on both sides of them. I'm hoping this is just my problem. I tend to overanalyze things. When I put my grounded test probe on the "distributor shaft" side of the points, I don't get any current (no light to my probe), even when the points are closed. If I turn the distributor, I still don't get anything when the points open. But when the points are closed, if I manually open them, I get my "spark" Interesting, huh? I'll send an update tomorrow night.
