<x-charset iso-8859-1>I did this a lot with my '80 FI Vanagon. First thing to try is to start with the good vehicle off, so you only get the charge in the battery couple with the dead one. No chance for spikes, but the risk of killing the good battery, but the safest. Second choice is to allow the running vehicle to idle, and produce standard voltage. If you rev it up the spikes might mess with the FI on the daed car. I have done this on my 69 Square and 72 fastback with no adverse effects but it was a dispirit measure, but was very concerned I would do damage. Can anyone clear this up. I know in the Idiots Guide and the Owners Manual say this is a no-no. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
