ive herd many different things about T4s. Personally i think they are ugly(i dont like the whole edsel thing going on in the front). but mechanicly ive herd wonders about them other than that they dont handle well. The engine would look very familiar if you are used to the look of the T3 engine compartment. it is also a pancacke cooling setup but has a real alternator. a 73 would more than likely have a d-jet system just like a 68+ T3. it even looks the same. the main difference between a T4 and the rest of the ACVWs is the type4 engine(late bus has this too) and it has a macpherson strut suspension at all 4 wheels. unfortunately when the T4 came out VW hadn't perfected it on their cars yet and the T4 is supposedly the worst handling VW car(excluding the bus of course which is a van) of that era. Thankfully by the time the super beelte came out VW had perfected the strut front end for it so it worked a lot better than the T4 suspension. So basicly with a T4 you either love it or hate it. They are heavy and are much slower than T3s and dont handle nearly as well. but the engine is pretty close to a bolt-in on a T3. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
