I've never seen a progressive setup for a T3 before.  If they're anything
like those for a T4, the manifolds are really, really bad.  Does your
manifold have a place for exhaust heating?  If no, that is definately one
big cause of troubles: center-mounted carbs really need this.

Also, although it doesn't matter for your idle quality, the 009 will cause
you a bit of frustration just off idle at light throttle, too.
