Exactly right. This is a way of selling things and getting advertising at the same time. Just think what the advertising value of this discussion on this list would have been worth, if only it had been more positive. OTOH, I have often wondered what it would cost me to make such a muffler, but I gave it up when I started thinking about the high cost of the machined parts versus the extremely small market for such an expensive part. Then you have to wonder about the commercial value of making a part that is expensive and never wears out.
