The picture you paint is terrifying, but I'm still using hose from a batch I bought about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, that Airequip part # is discontinued and I am about out. That hose was lasting about 10 years for me. I would look for a better source. I talked to a truck equipment place a few months ago and they had something that looked reasonable. You want 5/16" or 8mm hose. I actually think the domestic is better than the German, but your experience is truly awful.
