Some time ago we had a conversation about leaks in the newer German gas hose that is available. I think Jim suggested using FLAPS 5/16 gas line. The last few times I have used GATES fuel hose it has fallen apart and cracked within a year. I have had 3 leaks in 6 months with genuine German fuel injection hose. The hose has been from 2 different lots of hose. 2 leaks were at fittings and one was a pinhole type of leak in the middle of a 3 foot long hose. I have also seen several other vw cars in my area with the same problems over the last few years. Are any of you having the same problems? Does anyone have a suggestion for a better hose product? Have any of you converted over to all metal lines? I am really concerned about this problem. I do not want a Type III Barb-a-que going on in the back of my car. It just seems that since the formula change in the fuel here in California a few years back this problem has been popping up.
