<x-flowed>Hiya Volks- I'm back after a brief hiatus following the @home/attbi debacle.... :) My choice for a car MP3 player is the RioVolt SP250, which is an MP3 CD player with 8 mins shock protection, AM/FM and more options than my '65 DeVille! (all for around $150). One CD lasts 4-6 hours depending on the bitrate of the Mp3s, and the rechargeable batteries (included) last a good 8-10 hours. Thus, a small stack of Mp3 CDs should get you to Parma and back without a repeated song (and this is if you live in Florida ;) It plays Mp3 files and WMA files, and works flawlessly with multi-session recordings (ie. DIrectCD). In my square (as well as the Caddy) the Mp3 player is connected to a combined amplifier/preamp/EQ via the 1/8 in. line out jack. One thing I really like about this setup and the SP250 is the fact that the entire rig can be controlled via the small, handheld "remote" unit, which gives you controls for things like volume, play, FF, RW, and folder/track selection. Thus, once you get used to the remote unit, you can load one CD and not have to look down at the main unit and/or touch it to change tracks, volume, scan etc. for 4-6 hours. Much safer than station scanning on a Saphire IX, IMHO. ;) In my square both the EQ/preamp and Mp3 player reside in the glove compartment, so all that is visible is the cord leading to the handheld remote unit. Check it out! http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10310798&loc= Cheers, Dave Y. PS Obligatory disclaimer: I am not affiliated in any way with Diamond/Rio and/or Buy.com - just a fan of the SP250!
