There was a lot of air in the lines when I bled them. Although I have to admit that Jim was probably right yesterday - they are squishy again today. So apparently, during the seven months, something "gave" because when I parked the car several months ago, the brakes were fine. I think I noticed a small puddle of fluid under the MC last night (although I had my Volvo there the day before, so I'm not certain if it was from the Volvo or the VW - will inspect tonight).
