While I've been fixing failed VDO odometers for years, I haven't been completely happy with part of my technique. When Mike Wodkowski was here last summer one of the things we did for his car was this repair, and Mike suggested an improvement that I liked. I had been thinking about a way to do it precisely and conveniently, but hadn't really gotten around to making the tooling that I needed. A couple of weeks ago, however, one of you sent me 3 odometers to fix. This was the incentive that I needed to make the tooling and I'm pleased to report that it worked and it is all set to make more repairs. I have every reason to believe that the repaired odometers will be more reliable than the original design. The price for these repairs remains at $55, including return shipping. I added some extra features today that I hope will make some things easier for me, and I may make more improvements in the future, but I'm happy enough about all this to want to "crow" about it just a bit. Thanks for the suggestion, Mike! - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
